Pitiquito, SonoraPitiquito, Sonora
The pueblo of Pitiquito (pronounced pee-tee-kee-toe), Sonora is a small, lovely community nestled between the desert hills a few miles east of Caborca on Mexico Highway 2.
In addition to having a historic and very photogenic mission church, San Diego de Pitiquito, which is located on the site of the original mission established by Father Kino in 1689, it is also home to Pieles Pitic, a producer of traditional and fine leather goods.
Pitiquito celebrates its patron saint, San Diego, every November with the Fiestas de San Diego. In addition, every two years the fiestas are a town reunion known as “Reencuentro.”
